We all know that we have lots of blood in our body (five liters approximately), but we are not aware that we have 15 liters of lymph that is constantly travelling through our body!

It is this lymphatic fluid that moves our amazing hormones around, and that takes the fats from our digestive system and transports them everywhere that it needs to go, including the brain!

It is the lymphatic system that regulates the fluid levels in our bodies, and that also regulates our ability to heal!

That’s right! Our immune system is so intertwined with our lymphatic system that how fast you recover from any injury, even just stubbing your toe or getting rid of lactic acid after going to the gym depends on it.

Just think that we are made up of ONE HUNDRED TRILLION cells and all of these cells bathe in this fluid!

We used of think that some diseases that we were diagnosed with were passed down through our genes, but now research is indicating that that is not the case. It is what our cells are bathing in, and how that makes the appropriate changes that dictates how healthy we are going to be. And this is the lymphatic fluid!

So, think of our lymphatic fluid like a fish tank, and the fish tank environment is clear, filtered, with happy fish swimming around, and all the healthy algae and greenery. With a healthy lymphatic system you will feel as amazing as that fish tank looks! Your body is a beautiful ecosystem!

What happens to our Lymphatic System?

But that fish tank gets turbid and murky when it is burdened by the poisons we inadvertently put in it. Some examples are the chemicals that we put in or on our bodies, like deodorants, alcohols, acrylamide from fried or baked foods, the chemicals that get sprayed in the air that we breathe and on the foods we eat, not to mention the many the disinfectants, heavy metals and contaminants in our drinking water, all of these poisons are going into our body.

Also consider that we are often wearing garments like bras and sports clothes that slow the flow of lymph coming up towards the heart, and that we have had surgeries, or that we hold our shoulders tightly due to stress, or that we shallow-breathe.

Be aware that the lymphatic system does not have a pump like the heart and the lungs, it just relies on you!

So, to keep your lymph clean and flowy we encourage you to move, to breathe deeply, to eat healthy and to…
